How Does Sound Eject Water From Speakers?
Modern smartphones use protective acoustic membranes that keep water from reaching internal circuits. However, surface tension holds liquid trapped inside tiny grill openings, muffling sound. Here is how our sound cleaner fixes it:
Resonant Frequencies
Plays specific low-to-mid range frequencies (165Hz to 440Hz) calibrated to match the natural harmonic resonance of mobile speaker diaphragms.
Surface Tension Breakdown
The intense air pressure changes shatter the capillary adhesive force that binds water droplets across the tiny pores of your device's speaker mesh.
Kinetic Air Displacement
Rapid speaker excursion creates miniature directional bursts of air that forcefully push moisture out through the external acoustic ports.
Vibrational Dust Shake
Vibration mode applies mechanical oscillation to dislodge dried dust, sand particles, pocket lint, and residual moisture for clear audio fidelity.
Engineered For Every Cleaning Scenario
Whether you just dropped your phone in a sink or pool, or your speaker is clogged with pocket dust, we provide two specialized cleaning modes.
Sound Cleaning Mode
Targeted Water Ejection Acoustics
Generates high-velocity sine and square waves that create powerful sound pressure waves inside the acoustic chamber. As the sound waves exit, they blast water droplets away from the speaker diaphragm and protective mesh.
- Best for: Dropped in bath, sink, swimming pool, or heavy rain.
- Simulates the Apple Watch water eject mechanism.

Vibration Mode
Deep Frequency Dust & Debris Removal
Uses low-frequency pulsing rumble combined with device haptics to physically shake the speaker assembly. This mechanical shaking loosens stubborn pocket lint, sand, and dried mineral residue that sound alone cannot blow away.
- Best for: Pocket lint, dirt buildup, crackling or low volume.
- Activates device motor haptics on supported mobile browsers.

How to Use Fix My Speaker Properly
Follow these simple steps to ensure maximum liquid ejection and avoid pushing water deeper into your device.
Disconnect Headphones & Bluetooth Devices
Ensure that your device is not currently routed to Bluetooth earbuds, AirPods, or external sound bars. The cleaning frequencies must play directly through your phone’s built-in loudspeaker grill.
Turn Volume Up to 100% (Maximum)
For acoustic water ejection to produce enough air pressure displacement, your speaker must push at maximum physical volume. Low or medium volume will not produce enough force to break liquid surface tension.
Position Your Phone Facing Downward
Rest your phone so the bottom speaker grill points downwards over a dry tissue, paper towel, or microfiber cloth. This lets gravity work together with acoustic pressure so expelled water drops fall right out.
Tap "Start Cleaning Sound" & Allow Full Cycle
Click the start button and let the 30-second or 60-second acoustic cycle play uninterrupted. You may see tiny moisture misting or droplet beads forming on the speaker grill.
Wipe Clean & Test Audio Clarity
Gently wipe away the expelled moisture with a dry cloth. Use our built-in Test Speaker Sound button or play your favorite music track. If audio still sounds muffled, repeat the cycle once or twice.
